For this project Nadar Oak provided a turn-key full project management service for a 2-storey side extension and an oak frame extension to the rear.
The owners approached us looking to extend their 3-bedroom semi-detached home in the suburbs to accommodate their growing family.
They were determined to make the open planning living space work for them in oak, so that they would feel more connected to the outside space and would benefit from using natural and sustainable materials. The light, spacious design encourages an atmosphere where friends and family enjoy spending time together.
Our concept designs helped them to visualise the space. The brief was for a contemporary look and feel with a polished concrete floor and aluminium bi-fold doors which were set into the frame. They chose a painted tongue and groove roof, which provides a smart and robust internal finish.
Choosing an Oak Frame Extension
The wonderful thing about an oak frame is that it can be incorporated into almost any form of house construction, to bring a warmth and character unachievable in any other way.
Choosing an oak frame into your home does not need to be an all or nothing decision. The use of elements of oak frame in key areas can add a wow factor to the hallway, master bedroom or living area. We prefer a ‘less is more’ approach to showcase the character of the oak and provide real impact.
