Bespoke oak frame building creates a flexible, functional and contemporary Entertainment Barn
This client lives in the Surrey Hills. They approached us looking for someone to help create a large bespoke oak frame building to provide additional living space. They were looking for the perfect space that could be used for entertaining, a photographic studio and guest accommodation.
They wanted to focus on natural materials to provide a light, spacious, open plan design that could be used by the whole family. It needed to offer flexibility, a warm convivial atmosphere and complement the existing property.
The new oak frame building was to be accessed via the house and an additional independent entrance off the driveway.
We produced concept drawings to help the client visualise the impact of the new barn style, oak frame building. The idea was to ensure it blended well with the existing garden and house…it did, and the clients fell in love with the opportunity and potential for the increased living space.
The result is this fantastic oak frame building, creating the ultimate entertainment barn. It showcases a feature arched collar truss over the main living space. Glazing runs all the way along the south facing aspect to the garden, with lots of French doors. These open up the space to the beautiful gardens and the interior of barn is reflected in the outside space, providing a connection to the natural environment. The barn is accessed via a link room to the existing house.
Nadar Oak completed the design, build and project management in a full turn-key solution. Our architect designed and created the stunning bespoke oak frame building, including snooker room, bar, link room, photographic studio and accommodation with en-suite.
At night, the space looks particularly stunning. The lighting scheme we designed highlights the oak frame in all the right places, in combination with the reflective qualities of the glass.
The end result produced this luxury entertainment and living space that the client had always dreamed of.
